November 20, 2025 – Visiting Lecturer Activity of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, featuring Maria Theresa V. Forneas, Ph.D. from the University of Northern Philippines. This activity is part of the ICT Literacy course and is attended by third-semester students.
Students enthusiastically participated in Maria’s guest lecture. Maria addressed the topic of developing learning media in mathematics education. The material was presented in an engaging manner and relevant to current learning needs. She explained that learning media can be divided into two main categories: traditional and conventional media. Her systematic explanations, accompanied by practical examples, encouraged students to demonstrate strong attention, active thinking, and interest in developing learning media in future teaching and learning processes.
Through this activity, students gain an understanding and practical examples of various learning media that can be used in mathematics teaching and learning in schools. After attending this guest lecture, students are expected to be able to develop and apply learning media creatively, effectively, and tailored to student needs, thereby improving the quality of learning.
