Thesis Series Presents an Extraordinary Speaker: Dr. Muhammad Noor Kholid, M.Pd., a Reputable Q1 Scopus Publication Expert

Surakarta, November 14, 2025 – The Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, once again presented a high-quality academic activity through the Thesis Webinar Series #1, with the topic of Writing Publication Articles. This event featured an outstanding resource person, Dr. Muhammad Noor Kholid, M.Pd., a lecturer in Mathematics Education at UMS with a reputable track record of international publications, including articles published in Scopus Q1 journals.

This online event, which took place from 1:00 PM WIB until completion, was mandatory for all students taking the Thesis course. This webinar was designed to provide an in-depth understanding of strategies for writing good scientific articles, publication techniques in reputable journals, and the systematic steps students must master to produce publishable scientific work.

In his presentation, Dr. Muhammad Noor Kholid emphasized the importance of developing a research mindset from the beginning of the thesis process. He also provided concrete guidance on scientific article structure, selecting the right journal, citation techniques, and how to navigate the peer review process, which is often challenging for novice authors.

This activity received high enthusiasm from students. They felt helped by the highly applicable, clear explanations, and real-world experiences in the world of international publications. Many participants reported growing confidence in preparing articles for publication as part of their academic obligations toward the completion of their studies.

Through this Public Lecture on the Thesis Series, the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMS), hopes that students will become more focused on producing scientific papers that not only meet academic requirements but also contribute to the development of science at the national and international levels.

This activity also demonstrates the study program’s commitment to improving graduate quality by equipping them with research and publication skills, in line with UMS’s vision of being a leading, globally competitive university that contributes to national progress.
