Surakarta, September 27, 2025 – The PKTI (Scientific Writing Development) Division, Reasoning and Human Resource Development (PPSDM) Division, HMP Mathematics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta held a 2025 Scientific Study activity. The 2025 Scientific Study raised the theme “Packaging Ideas and Feelings into Meaningful Essays” with the hope that students of the Mathematics Education study program can gain knowledge about scientific works, especially writing, and they begin to try to open their horizons and think critically by trying to write essays.
The 2025 Scientific Study activity was carried out offline in room B0306 of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The target of the 2025 Scientific Study activity was the first semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The purpose of this activity was to provide a clearer picture and knowledge and direct the first semester students to get to know scientific writing, especially essays, which in this activity were studied in more depth. The 2025 Scientific Study event consisted of a core event, namely a review of material related to essays by the presenters followed by a question and answer discussion. At the end of the event, a post-test was also held in the form of making an introduction to an essay with a free theme to test how the participants’ knowledge about essays after receiving a review from the presenters.
The 2025 Scientific Study presented a speaker, namely Sister Samiyem, a Physiotherapy student, Faculty of Health Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta who has experience in scientific writing and is a 2025 student representative. The clear and coherent delivery of the material can help participants understand and grasp the meaning of the material presented.
